Ever wonder what skills, content, or understandings are being taught in BC? It's all listed on the BC Curriculum website.
There are two important tabs at the top of the site: Curriculum and Competencies. The curriculum is what teachers report on, and the competencies are the life-skills that students self-assess each year. We examine, for example, questions like:
How am I best able to communicate my feelings? In what ways can I collaborate with others to achieve a goal? How do I show my creativity? What groups do I feel I belong to?
